French Ring is the national ring sport of France and the oldest of the ring sports. Dogs are tested on obedience, jumps (hurdle, palisade and long jump) and protection, with helpers in full suits.
Most trials take place in France, but there are clubs in other countries, including some in the UK.
Titles, in order

- 4Ring 3The highest level, out of 400 points.
How to begin
- Find a ring sport club and ask to watch.
- Build obedience and safe jumping first.
- Aim for the brevet as your first goal.
- Rules change from time to time and differ between organisations. Check the current regulations with your club before you enter.
Kit you need
- Flat collar and a 1 to 2 metre lead
- Food rewards and a tug
- A crate for the car, and water
- Club membership; the club provides helpers and suits
